Welcome to Media Training SW

The Media Training South West company offers professional and effective media training across the South West and beyond.  We’re based in Bristol, Somerset, and Devon.  And as former journalists and PR specialists, we come at this from a lived-experience and a wealth of clients.

We are also experienced trainers, so we ensure that our training is lively, engaging and transformative.  Together we will explore the dynamics and nuances of the media, give information and strategies, and create a safe environment to hone your skills.

Two professional media consultants, with over 50 years in the media between them, mean you will get current, relevant and transforming media training.

Media training sessions may be offered as group training, one-to-one media coaching or bespoke in-house courses to suit your business.

Media Training South West is different…

Our media training isn’t only about the technical side of facing the media, or the “outer presentation”… we also offer a training course to build your inner confidence.  Created from the base of Mindfulness, our inner confidence training will support your ability to connect better with your audiences, and to access resources that are normally unavailable to us.

We help you to become more grounded on the inside, and more professional on the outside.  Holistic media training, for authentic interviews.

Media Training to suit your needs

As part of our media training experience, we offer you a bespoke training, using real life examples that you may need to field and work with.  We can also help you create a crisis management plan, and ensure that every person involved is up to the job of working with the media.

Media Management has never been so important.

Today businesses are faced with not only the traditional media (print/radio/broadcast) but also a barrage of self-managing social media streams that operate 24/7/365.  The two are certainly intertwined, with the traditional media ofte reporting on social media “fails”, thus empowering the consumer even more.

This means that media management and media training is not just an essential job function of directors, but that all members of your staff can be both assets in terms of media-monitoring, and also potential weaknesses (or costs) in terms of incorrectly using social media.  It therefore pays to ensure that media training is spread to all staff who are likely to interact with the public or the general media.

Testimonial

“Sue and Karen ran an excellent course for our political leaders and senior managers on media interview techniques: supportive, friendly, but also challenging, with plenty of opportunity for each participant to get involved and to put the theory into practice”
Andrew Lacey, Communications & Reputation Manager, Mid Devon District Council

Media Training is vital – because the message you give the media, is the message your customers will be hearing.  Make it strong, professional and intentional.
