Karen White, Media Trainer

Karen’s career started in regional and national journalism and she has contributed to papers including the Sunday Times, the Daily Mail and The Sun.

She then moved into PR, working for JBP PR and Parliamentary Affairs as a Director and key member of the community relations team managing a portfolio of projects for National Grid Property and Sainsbury’s, as well as a number of campaigns including the award winning ‘Access to Medicine’, campaign, easing the regulatory framework around trial drugs for terminal illness.

She left the company in 2001 to head up corporate communications in the EMEA region for multinational weight and nutrition specialists Herbalife, managing a network of agencies for six years before returning to JBP and then setting up her own consultancy practice ten years ago.

Now working on a part time basis, Karen currently provides strategic consultancy services to a Bristol-based PR consultancy, whilst developing her non executive portfolio and her passion for the creative sector.  She  is Chair of the arts charity The Stradling Collection, Trustee of Bristol Museums Development Trust, on the public engagement panel for the University of the West of England and a regular contributor to local and national radio on a range of subjects.
