Why inner confidence is vital in Media Training

Why our media training doesn’t just focus on the outer “body image” – we also spend a lot of time on Media Training Inner Confidence

Like most media trainers, our intensive training includes spending a lot of time on body language and image.  Our TV intensive coaching includes what to wear, how to dress, what shoes, and even what lipstick colour (if you wear lipstick).

And in all our training, we explain the impacts and importance of maintaining eye contact (but not to uncomfortable extremes), and how important it is that you don’t twitch or shuffle in your chair, don’t play with papers, your hair, your clothes…..

But way more important than the outer-show, is your Inner Confidence

The importance of Media training Inner Confidence in an Interview

Look at any great media interview and you’ll notice someone who has done a lot of work on themself.  Not just the outer image, although they may look polished and perfect too, but the inner work, their inner confidence.

Inner confidence is about being at peace with ourselves, and knowing deep down that the image you are projecting is the one that will give the best possible chance to your message.

Talking about message…

The interviewee who has invested in an inner confidence programme is an interviewee who has put their ego out of the way. They know that the important element of the interview is not themself, it is the message that they are carrying.  And therefore they are able, calmly and purposefully, to put this message across.

This isn’t just Media Training , it’s a level of Self-Care, that also means someone will be unflustered.  Drawing on inner resources and a well of serenity, a self-caring interviewee is competent and confident, without being arrogant or blustery.

Mindfulness in Media Training.

Much of what we teach in our Media Inner Confidence Training is based on Mindfulness.  Sue Haswell is a Mindfulness teacher, and trains people to develop mindfulness practice.  This is so much more than just meditation, and with our Media Training Inner Confidence package it can help in a way that is focused and grounded.

Building Confidence from within

This is not a short, fast-paced course.  The Media Training Inner Confidence is an ongoing activity, and we will give you the core elements of it and work with you to develop your own personal programme, which may include different activities, or personal coaching sessions.

Perfect if you are used to facing the media on a frequent basis, or if you have confidence issues, or if you need to deliver profound messages, without the ongoing chatter of your inner (usually ego-driven) self.
